I`ve been a real clubby mood - I want to go to a club or get dolled up and go out. I haven`t because of a lack of money and that`s not really the scene for Johnny. We just came back from his friends` Christmas party, but I didn`t drink because the last time I saw these friends I made a complete fool of myself, so I thought it would be even more embarrassing for me to drink. I had quite a bit caffeine that night, but that stuff doesn`t really affect me. Even when having more caffeine than one should have in a day I don`t really feel the effects. I enjoyed the food though and it was fine not to drink. Tomorrow, though, is my Friday and my last day of work. I`ll definitely break out the wine.

I almost got smoked today while driving. I was turning left and I saw a van coming from afar and figured I had room. I`m sure someone else would have gone if I wasn`t the driver. Plus I figured the guy might slow down a little if the backside of my car was sticking out. No dice. My new instructor, because my old one quit out of the blue, causing me to miss my lesson last week, slammed on the breaks and we let the guy pass before I completed the turn. He`s a very lighthearted guy so I wasn`t totally grilled for that. He said despite a few mistakes that I`m doing well. I really need to work on reversing though. I always get confused when turning. Evidently lots of people have that problem because of a spacial distortion things - your brain says one thing but your eyes say another. I`m going to work on that next time. I also pulled off two parallel parking attempts well simply by following the instructions... now if I can fully remember them, that would be great. Often I have to be told twice to fully remember everything when learning something new.

I`ve become a little into Lady Gaga. I finally looked up Bad Romance and I found it catchy. I also looked at a few other songs and I really like So Happy I Could Die. The interest in this music may have also influenced by desire to look a little slutty and party hard. I`ve been listening to a lot of the common club dance songs, like Rihanna`s Don`t Stop the Music. Now I just need a place to go and hope my boyfriend could tolerate it :p I suggested to Kara that we should go to Organix soon. Maybe for my birthday, but I`m reluctant to go since my birthday is in the middle of the Olympics and going downtown would be a shit scene. Oh well. I`ll have a good one on one party tomorrow :p

I got my final grade back for my history class. My first A with Seager - I always got A-s. I haven`t got my essay back. I`m going to try again tomorrow. I never got back a few essays that I wrote for previous classes that I was proud of too. One was on themes in Canadian comedy. My thesis stated that in the last two decades, humour has become more unified, whereas in the 80s and decades before it was very regional based - Newfoundland had its own comedy team that geared towards a Newfoundland-only audience and in the 90s the Newfoundland based show, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, became a nationwide hit. Newfoundland comedians got more recognition, like Rick Mercer and Mary Walsh. In the past few years prairie comedies like Corner Gas and Little Mosque on the Prairie became very popular, thus driving towards a more unified comedy base. Trailer Park Boys too add onto Maritime humour. Now all we need is a BC show and one that represents the Territories.

Sorry if that was boring :|

So far I`ve gotten one official grade back and one unofficial grade back. I`ve received an A- in my self, psychology, and education class. This means I must have done well on the paper since I did a mediocre job on the midterm. I`m going to pick up the paper later on today, after a swim. This also means that I`ve received all As in every education class that I`ve taken during my BA. My unofficial grade for my developmental psychology class is a B+, which is what I expected. I was right when I did well on the written portion of the exam. I got 81% on the final. Yay! Now all I need back is my grade for the history of British Columbia seminar. If I receive what I always get when I take a class with Seager, I can expect another A-.

I thought I had more to say, but I guess that`s it. This week I`ll be tracking down Christmas specials I want to watch. I tried to watch Christopher the Christmas Tree last night but Johnny thought it was stupid. He says I like the most dull shows ever. I suppose so - I really like the CBC, but I also like some not-so-dull ones, like South Park or the The Tudors. I`m also going to track down a Better or For Worse Christmas special that I saw as a kid where Elizabeth loses her stuffed rabbit. I also had this old live action 80s movie with two cartoon mice that was about a mystery. I might even still have it since I think it was taped, but Alex probably has it. Don`t fail me now, YouTube. My favourite Christmas special is on there: A Muppet Family Christmas. At least Johnny likes that one.

    EDIT:

I got 37/40 on my paper and 86% in the class. Yay!

My second run on the Stanley Park train didn`t go too well. When we got there I noticed a sign that said tickets were sold out until 8:30 pm. Now we could have left, gotten something to eat, fought for a parking spot and came back later, but that would have been too late for Keira. Instead we got her a light up sword, went to the farmyard to see animals, and took a walk through the park. We also went out to dinner afterwards. I`m glad Johnny and I went on Wednesday.

Today I had to buy new boots because the ones I bought in the States in October fell apart already. Well, one boot did - the other one is fine. I noticed a hole when I was heel shopping on Friday, but I thought nothing of it. Today my sock got wet after walking outside with Johnny. I had a look at the sole and there were two, half an inch dents in the boot from ice or rocks. Whatever the sole is made out of, it`s a piece of crap. This doesn`t surprise me because I saw the same boots I got the States at Wal-Mart or Zellers here, and I know their clothes are crap. It snowed today too so I needed some new boots. I got some more on my way home. These ones are warm and fluffy, which is what I wanted initially. I almost didn`t get them since my credit card declined since my mom`s bill came in late. Luckily I had enough in my bank account to pay by debit. I asked my mom if this could be an early Christmas present, to which they said yes, so I`ll get a check for the amount paid.

I also went heel shopping on Friday. I wanted something colourful since all I have are my black, strappy pair that I`ve been wearing for the past few years. My new ones have high, high heels are a sparkly purple. I`ve got a nice top and some jewelry to go with them, which is good, and I think they can work with my black dress. They`re cheap shoes, but unlike the boots I won`t wear them often, so I`m sure they`ll last. They`re also a tad too big - they didn`t half a size smaller. But I was tired of finding cheap shoes so I bought them anyway. The gel insoles and the gel anti-rub heels things thicken the insides up a little. A small amount of tissue and I`m good. I was hoping to wear them to a Christmas party next week, but I was told it`s not formal. Rats.

I`m waiting for pizza because my parents aren`t home and there`s nothing to eat in this house. I hope the doorbell isn`t broken. It seems like it`s taking a long time for this pizza to arrive.

I`m done my developmental psychology exam. It seemed trickier than the midterm. There were a few questions where I didn`t understand the professor was going with. A few of the multiple choice questions could have been worded better. The short answer portion seemed a bit easier. I just hope what I wrote will suffice. I`m averaging at 80% in the class. I got 80% on my midterm and my paper, so this exam will determine if I go up or down.

I`m going shopping with Kara and Johnny tomorrow. Since I`m done my Christmas shopping I can spend something small on myself. I`m hoping to get some new, fun heels. Something colourful - the heels I have are black. We`re also going to see the Christmas Carol movie if it`s still out. I wanted to see the Fourth Kind, but Johnny wants to see a Christmas movie. It is more fitting, but I really wanted to see the other movie. Oh well. I can wait until it`s out on DVD.

Next week I`m going to learn reverse driving and parking. I was able to manage Lougheed today and a drive all around Coquitlam. I`m glad I`m able to do this because a few months ago I thought I couldn`t drive at all. I hope I can manage parking okay. I`ve heard it`s the hardest part of driving.

    EDIT

My pizza came after an hour.

Also a mom and his cute, but shy, teenage son rang my doorbell and were selling flowers with candy canes in them to raise money for the food bank. The flowers looked so cute and beautiful - they were African violets. It`s was the son`s project too. If only I had cash on me! I would have loved to buy one or two, but I was completely cash-less. I told them I would have loved to buy one, but regretfully I had no cash. I should have asked them to stop by another time, where I could have made sure I had cash on me. I just hope they sell all of their flowers. I feel so bad that I couldn`t help out.
